Drift 4K or Motorcycle Vs. Car Drift Battle 4 or Drift 4 or whatever.

My whip, a 67 Mustang dubbed "Sweet Tooth"
First, Watch this here clip Vlad's sister Natasha made...

Then read this to yourself in the best Officer Dan accent you can muster. Thanks. Also, I wish I could be writing this to you in the Disney font, cause it's so warm and inviting. Computers ain't my thang.

Welcome to Drift 4K Amigos. As the "story" left off, Nick and Ernie headed towards Mexico to avoid another sticking from the long arm of the law. I followed them boys down there, we had some good times, and caused some right purdy mayhem for the fine people of Mexico. After a while we drifted (see what I did there?) apart and went our own separate ways. Since I was promoted to customer at my last job, I went to seek new employment. Turns out employment found me.

Random unemployed selfie
They called him the "Sugar Daddy". A well off Eastern European with a love for fast cars and a hankering for sweets. He had me running that pure cane you can only get from Mexico back and forth for damn decent moo-la. He wanted it to look like drugs to make him seem like a real bad ass, even if it was just sugar for his morning noon and night coffee. Whatever, a paycheck's a paycheck.

Vlad, explained
Anywho. Sugar Daddy, or Vlad, as I found his real name to be is a strange cat indeed. On top of his confectionary love, he has a keen obsession with them two drift bike boys. I often spoke of the shit show they called a drift extravaganza, I'd even seen some lame excuses for a youtube video with them in it. Thinking back on it, I'm assumin the whole reason he found / employed me in the first place was to get to them. Over the years he hatched this grandiose plan to get them back to glory, bring them to Miami from Mexico and beat them down like they'd never been beaten before. Obsessed much?

Just a small sample of Vlads stash
He went out and spent 10's of 1,000's of dollars on escorts, taxis, plane tickets, bikes, leathers and so on and so forth for them hoodlums. Went on and on and on about them losing their "bowls". I don't even know what that means, nor do I really care. Told me I would be "getting de best bonus I head ever seen", so I didn't ask many questions. He said I was supposed to make sure they were in halfway decent condition before I sent them his way... I knew they weren't but I figured I give it a whirl anyhow.

Last known photo of the "drift extravaganza"
Off to Mexico I went.

Didn't take long to find 'em. They had gotten themselves kicked out of every venue they tried to do demos in for lack of crowds giving two shits and even less pesos. I Traced down that line till I found em at rock bottom. Doing half assed stunts in a run down dirt lot, for a crowd of 1. I'm pretty sure passing tumbleweeds could make more money than these two at this point. What a waste of good talent and gasoline.

Quit playin in the dirt, it's dirty.
Vlad had rented the track, whose backlot they were performing on, and asked me to run em through the course a few times to get em back into shape. I obliged with pleasure. Felt good to be drifting with them boys again, even if those old wore out vato zoned bikes they was on were on their last legs.

me, complete badass, skid racin with them boys again
Sure didn't take but 5 minutes of fun for Nick to run out of gas and Ernie to blow a tire. I had also embarrassed them enough for one day. I figured then was as good a time as any to lay a job on em. I knew they wouldn't be able to say no. I gave em little to no instruction and tossed a suspicious looking package their way. I told them my new boss was expecting them and that they'd best be on the way if they knew what was good for em.

About to help these boys get bowls back

Off they went into the desert. Probably would have been better to get them a cab to the airport, but wheres the fun in that? Needless to say Vlad had a plan for that too. He figured they wouldn't get far and sent a "Shepard" to help find the way. Right on time he was too. Just as they had run completely out of gas riding nuts to butts on a bumpy dirt road, the driver showed up to save the day.

Taxi driver and me somewhere in Mexico
Not sure what happened on the ride, but I am sure it was a good one. I've had more than a few drunken rides home with the driver, and I am pretty sure he was always more drunk than me. What a champion. They dawned Vlads "Miami appropriate clothings" and off they went on a flight to Flow rida.

Stock image of some cool Triumphs I found.
To make things easier for them once they finally got to Miami, Vlad had two brand new turbo Triumphs waiting for them in the plane hangar. He left no other instructions cept a note that said "here are bowls, love SD" Still confused on the whole bowl thing, but I digress. You see, Vlad had a plan for everything. He knew they would immediately head out and terrorize the streets on their new steeds. They did thusly. He sent his sister, Natasha after them to send a message. After a small and unfruitful chase (they had no chance, I've seen Natasha drive), she lost them and left a note in the most spectacular way.

Natasha laid the smack down on them but good.
Lol you just got beat by a girl.
They got the message and headed out to the track in the early (for me anyways) hours of the morning. After realizing first thing upon arriving that they had been bested by a girl in a Scorpion P6, they were whisked off to deliver this "special package" to the Sugar Daddy.

Vlad in one of his more natural poses.
They walked into one of his many garages to deliver his package, where he was poised looking over the engine bay of his Armageddon Twin Turbo Mustang. Probably reveling in the fact that he had 1,400 horsies on tap, but whatever, Natasha does all the work on his cars anyways. He doesn't even know what he's looking at. He just likes to have the best of the best. Speaking of that, now that them boys had their "bowls" back, SD was ready to challenge them to a drift off. He was ready to gain the fame and fortune of beating down the unbeatable motorcycle dudes.

Long distance coffee sugar, delivered.
They had just realized that they had traveled 1,000s of miles to deliver sugar, only to be challenged to a drift off on Vlad's home track. I'm assuming they were down right confused about everything that had just happened. After shoving countless confections into his pie hole, the drifting began. What a spectacle it was to behold. Them boys was on point, but Vlad was a monster let loose with an Armageddon 1400 horsepower Mustang. If only I could have gotten behind the wheel of that beast. Maybe some day.

Back and forth they went

Vlad seemed to be laying down a smoke screen they couldn't see through, thanks Armageddon

But them boys was fast.
If only his lug nuts were tightened all the way on that fateful driver side wheel. Shame how that had to happen and them boys got away. Seems this story may have had a totally different endin had they been tight. Then again, maybe it's just the beginning. I don't reckon Vlads done with them boys just yet.

#lugnuts aftermath

Officer Dan out.

Motorcycle vs. Car Drift Battle 2 : Details on the Mustang Cobra!

The mustang has the following mods to help it be the beast it was for the video. All work including paint, and custom welding was done by Car Crafters in Albuquerque, NM by Sean, Luigi and Brian!

The car is now for sale!!!

Quick over view of the car:
Dynoed at 490 hp and 490 ft lbs of torque
Fully customized and modified suspension
4 point roll cage with Sparco seats and 5 point belts

Details:

Engine:
a. Upgraded fuel injectors
b. Terminator throttle body
c. Custom x-pipe exhaust - no cats or mufflers, stops just past rear axle making it legal for any drift organization.
d. Custom air intake
e. Port and Polished supercharger
f. Billet pulley system for 12 plus lbs of boost
g. AC compressor eliminator
h. Aeromotive fuel pump with return system for constant high pressure
i. MSD 2-step rev-limiter, cuts the ignition before the fuel, unlike the stock ECU and is much better on the engine.

Cooling:
a. Eliminated the AC condenser for better cooling
b. Big aftermarket power steering cooler
c. Steeda heat exchanger
d. Big aluminum radiator
e. Dual electric fans for over 2,000 cfm of air flow

Suspension:
a. Full Maximum Motorsports track package, minus cross member, to remain legal for all drifting organizations. This includes their purpose built dampeners, coil-over adders with correct spring rates, upper camber / caster plates, strut brace, all bushings replaced (including all of the rear IRS bushings), tie rod ends with bump steer adjustment.
b. Custom blocks were made to relocate the front sway bar to allow for more steering angle
c. The front lower control arms were all custom fabbed out of DOM tubing. We had to make two different sets. The first set was very close to the stock arms just with more room but we found that we needed more camber and caster so a second set was made an inch and a half longer and we relocated the lower ball joint. Both sets will be included.
d. Front knuckles were cut and reinforced to allow for more angle and also worked to make sure the bump steer was perfect.
e. The final alignment was done and a lot of work has been done to make it handle great for drifting. On top of the alignment, the car is scaled and set-up for correct ride height, front to rear balance and cross weight.

Interior:
a. All the stock interior has been removed. This includes the heater box, radio, ac, stereo, carpet, headliner, center console, air bags, the stock steering column, etc.
b. The stock steering column was replaced with a solid shaft and a quick release racing steering wheel.
c. The ignition, starter, police lights, wipers, fuel pump, and fans are all on a custom carbon dash panel where the old radio was.
d. The boost gauge, water temp gauge, oil pressure gauge are all mounted on a custom carbon panel.
e. The headlights still operate from the stock switch.
f. The RPM, Speed, and other stock gauges work.
g. Sparco Racing Seats
h. 5-point racing harness for the driver and a 4 point harness for the passenger
i. Battery relocated to behind the passenger seat to offset the weight of the driver
j. 4 point roll cage is in the car currently, this will be legal for most pro-am drifting.

Matt Arruda ( Iox BOSS xoI ) does the Drift 2 Cobra for Forza 4!!!

So Right when the video came out Matt messaged me on Facebook, saying "I should probably do that mustang"... Fast forward to now, and here it is in all of it's glory. If you have not seen this guys work before, get ready to have your mind blown, and go like his page here, and add him on x box live (gamertag in the title), and look for this car in the market if he chooses to sell it ;)

The attention to detail is insane, from the logos, the simulated light bar and front strobes, to the extension of the windshield to include the banner, this thing is as legit as it gets.

Enough talk, here is the 04 cobra used in Icon's 'Motorcycle vs. Drift Car Battle 2' done up forza 4 style by Matt. I have included some other designs of his below the jump as well.

Well done man, thank you for all the effort put forth in making this, and all the others you do.

Any companies out there wanna contract Matt to do your car forza style?? Get at him on Facebook :)

Top Drift Rd. 2 Lexus party! (oh and 2nd place)

Holy smokes, I have been a slacker with this update... Been busy with work, and actually went to the lake for the first time in like 10 years. Anyway, back to the topic at hand.

Awesome shot of Brian's Lexus SC300

This was probably one of the funnest events all around, on my favorite track of the Top Drift tour, Horse Thief Mile. Charlie, Mike, Justin, Odi,  and the whole Just Drift crew will blow your mind with the amount of awesome they produce at events. Go to one and see for yourself. Huge thanks again goes out to Brian Dewitt, who build a rad car, and has been kind enough to let me beat the crap out of it for 3 events now, you rock buddy. More thanks to Jim Guthrie and Car Crafters / Guthrie Racing for getting me out to the events, Radium Engineering (who has some of the baddest parts out there), Grip Royal, Performance Fuel Injection, Pulstar Pulse Plugs, and Z-4 Graphix for helping a young buck out along the way. I hope I am making you all proud :)

Some wheels n' tires

Thursday
We started off the trip by taking 20 hours to get to cali... We broke down outside of Needles CA, with a busted clutch fan. We limped the truck into town, and Brian and Mikey threw a fix on it that got us to Lancaster for the night. We hit up the Yard House, had some delish dinner and brews, then crashed out for the evening.

Friday
Got to spend the next day at willow, while Jim tuned in the Mustang, I took a few laps around HTM and some around Balcony as well. I didn't want to spend 160 bucks to have full track time, so I kept the driving that day to a minimum, and mostly rode the scooter around. Who knew there was a mini bike track out there. Hit jumps like a boss. We took off and had another epic dinner and crashed out again.

Horse Thief Mile

Saturday Practice
We slept in a bit, missed the practice days drivers meeting... Got the skinny, Jim was in group A and I was in group C. This sure made it easy to have people watch to tell me how bad I was messing up. Practice was going good, and everyone seemed to be killing it. I was short on tires, so I didn't get to practice as much as I wanted to, and actually ended up taking a good long nap until brian awoke me to attend the worlds first Lexus SC300 tandem train party extravaganza. There were a total of 7 SC badged cars, plus a mk4 supra, bringing the total for the chassis up to 8. 6 of them were actual Lexus sc300 body styled cars, and Pat Mordaunt's SC430. This was the largest tandem train I have ever driven in, and it was a freaking blast. So many boats, so little time. I think I learned more about tandem doing that, than I have in the last 4 years of me drifting.

Needless to say, it was good to see some familiar faces, meet new ones and just have an awesome time with amazing drivers and staff.

The beginning of the Lexus party!!!!

The end of the Lexus party
Some tandem with Alex

Some more tandem with Jim Guthrie and Pat Mordaunt, more SC love!

Sunday Competition
Early morning was early... We were up at 6:30am, and out the door by 7 to be at the track for drivers meeting at 8. Got to the track, got pumped up applied some stickers and changed to a new set of tires for the days practice session. My good buddy Andy Barrow was out with us this time, and he spotted for me like a boss, I cannot believe how much having a good spotter helps you fine tune your runs in. Thanks a ton Andy :)

Practice felt awesome, and other than getting my tiger woods on with a hay bale, I managed not to run into anything or anyone else the remainder of practice. I had my qualifying run in my head, and ended practice early to watch everyone else.

There was another drivers meeting to go over what the judges wanted to see in qaul. and then the long wait, as there were close to 25 cars ahead of my run group. I watched as most of the guys in group A made some epic runs and started to get a little bit worried. It seemed as though everyone had on their A games as I watched people in full destroy mode.

I finally got my turn. My first run I was a bit off the first outer clip, but nailed the rest of the course spot on. My second run consisted me railing the 1st outer clip, then dirt dropping the 2nd. My third run was pretty much spot on for what I was doing in practice, didn't get close as I wanted to the 1st inner, but hung tire off the track on the 2nd outer without dropping tire. Pumped. Watched the rest of qualifying and headed off to the drivers meeting with mixed emotions about how I did.

On on first outer clip

Hanging tire on 2nd outer

Charlie started naming off people, and I kept getting more and more nervous. 16th, 15th, 14th Jim Guthrie, 13th, 12th, 11th, 10th, 9th went by, then 8th, 7th, 6th - Dan Brockett. Huge wave of relief and an even bigger wave of being stoked set in. The 20 hour drive and lack of sleep was now totally worth it.

Tandem - Top 16
My first battle was against Adam Knapik in an s14. The dude was super consistant all day, and was to be tough competition. I lead first, and ran out of gas at the bottom of the hill, lost drift and straightened out, but caught it and finished the course. Adam was right on my tail the whole time. I knew I had to get nasty to overcome the gigantic mess up I had laid down. Bottom of the hill again, on Adam's lead run, he went off track, I was hoping for a one more time, as we both messed up, but the judges gave the round to me. Not the best way to win a round, and I can't wait to battle Adam again soon.

Adam, putting the pressure on

Tandem - Top 8
The next battle was up against JD vet Jason Kim. Rad guy, and rad driver. I can't remember if I lead or followed first, but on my lead run, Jason went off track at the bottom of the hill, granting me the pass to top 4. Don't have enough nice things to say about Jason, and I love driving with him as well.

Awesome shot of Jason and I

Jason's dirt vacation :(

Tandem - Top 4
My top 4 battle was with Tyler Wolfson. I've had the pleasure of knowing him for most of last season, plus these two events. I love that guy. When his car is actually running for an entire event, he absolutely kills it. We had some of the best tandem of my short drifting career, as I knew I would have to follow like a beast to get the best of him. I pushed the car to it's limit and kept up, stayed close everywhere except the downhill section, and prayed I was transistioning at the right times due to the amount of smoke he was making. Get back to the top, and the one more time was called. Another almost identical set of runs were laid down, this time with me moving on to top 2. Tyler, thanks for some of the best runs I have ever had. Let's do this again asap. Also, check out the blog post about this round from them here: http://wolfseitz.wordpress.com/2012/05/31/2012update/

Tyler leading

Tyler following

Tandem - Top 2
Forrest Wang... What can I say, the dude is a machine. I followed first, and due to the power differences of the cars, I pushed a little too hard on entry, and almost rammed him. I was full on foot and e-brake and had to make a correction. By that time Forrest was all the way down the hill, and I couldn't catch up. On my lead run, Forrest was on me like glue and I could hear his turbo trying to suck me out of my seat the whole time. Well done, awesome to battle with you sir!

Forrest being Forrest

The 2nd place finish put me atop the JD standings for the season, a pretty damn awesome feeling. Just need to keep it up for 2 more rounds.

Mike Bolanos, thanks for keeping everyone super pumped up at the start line. Your antics make things so much more fun! <3 it

Thanks to the judges, Hiro Sumida, Justin Pawlak, and Odi Bakchis for the feedback and support, you guys rock.

Congrats to Forrest Wang for taking 1st, and Tyler Wolfson for taking 3rd!

The standings after 2 rounds.
